Illustrating Somers' commitment to our
customers and markets, we have produced wrought (rolled) copper foil for
electronics applications since the 1960's. In particular, the growth of
the flexible printed circuit industry has stimulated Somers' own technology,
resulting in precision rolled copper foil meeting the highest standards.
In the mid-1980's, CopperBond® treated
foil was introduced. TAB Temper CopperBond was introduced in 1988
and P2TManti-tarnish in 1990.
|
| Never content, 1993 brought a significant increase in capacity, and 1994 saw the introduction of double-treated foil (CopperBond DTTM). In 1995, CopperBond BlackTM, a low profile copper-nickel treatment, was developed. Somers achieved ISO 9002 recognition in 1996. In early 1997, Somers will be adding an additional treating line to meet customer needs. | |
